(More customer reviews)I used to go around with the iTrip, you know, the little FM transmitter, and sometimes interference was so bad that I eventually decided to turn off music in my car altogether. Then I learned of the icelink gadget and decided to give it a try.
First of all, let me tell you that if you like to hear music in your car, this is for you. I found it to have a better quality sound in my Bose fitted Audi A4 than CDs themselves. It's worth every penny.
Now the downside: If you are like me, you will probably have it installed in an authorized dealership, since disconnecting the battery will need that your car be re-programmed. This will set you back about 70-100 bucks further.
The other bad thing is that apparently not one of the OEM radios that come in Audis supports cd text, so you could see on your radio's display the song name and artist (track 01, 02, etc. is actually shown)even though the radios support RDS (you can see text for radio stations) Go figure.
You can control your ipod from the radio controls just like the ipod being a cd changer, even from controls located in your steering wheel (if available)
This little thingy will even charge your ipod's battery while connected or for some time after turning your car off, which I find to be a great feature.
Besides the aforementioned gripes, and though expensive for some, this solution will give you hours of pleasure listening to music in your car.
