(More customer reviews)This item looks good and would be a decent device, if only it worked. It boasts some enviable features and capabilities, but alas, it fails at many of them. This was my experience with the CMC2100 (had it for over two weeks before giving up):
1. Using USB, the device causes BSOD to appear on older computers, so if your motherboard dates before 2005 you may have issues as some older BIOSes might not support hyperthreading and/or the use of [very] large disks. [No fault of the device, I decided, and since it works with my newer computers, I will keep it...].
2. IR signals from other remotes sends the CMC2100 haywire; I switched channels on my Samsung TV and the device responded by powering on. [So, I dutifully moved the device to another location...]
3. The Media Player freezes quite frequently, typically when browsing Internet Radio stations. The only thing to do at that point is to unplug and restore power to the unit; there is no response from the power button even if held for a while. [This is quite annoying. But I'm most interested in its NAS feature, so maybe...]
4. The NAS feature is unreliable as the device's network connection drops out when transferring multiple or large files, again causing it to freeze. Needless to say that files become corrupted (fortunately I used COPY and not MOVE) and disk errors result. [I've now had enough. It is unbearable!]
Also, CIRAGO has poor customer support (if any); they never responded to my complaint.
