Item comes in one large box containing two boxes: one for each headrest. Packaging was very good. I received everything pictured plus cables. The instruction manual is not very good but that was expected. The two dvd headrests are identical. The headrests are big, remember 9" LCD.
INSTALLATION:
I decided to undertake the installation myself. I have a Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The headrest poles positions are adjustable and I was able to fit them easily into my headrest pole inserts. Additional pole sleeves are included, I assume for headrests with thicker poles. The wire runs through the left post (facing the LCD), I ran the wire through the seat back and out through the botton of the seat. Supplied cables are long. It then connects to another supplied cable, which breaks out the wire into 1. power (with a fuse box) PWR and GND and 2. input A/V cables. I decided not to use the input A/V cables because I did not want to run another cable to the other DVD headrest (which would be outside the seat and visible). You would only want to add this cable if you wanted the option to view the same DVD on both LCDs.
After some testing, I found the main connector for the power seats (containing the 12V power wires - use a multimeter to test for the 12V wires - even if you don't have power seats, the power connector may still be there, my passenger seat is not a power seat but the power cable was still there). I wanted to connect to a continuous 12V power; thus, the DVD player would be on even while the engine was off. I was able to jam the PWR and GND wires into the 12V power connector jacks without splicing the wire.
I do not know the power draw for the DVD players, it may drain your battery if you do not drive your car for an extended time period. You can always unplug the first cable to cut all power to the player.
PLAY:
Once installation was completed, the DVD headrests worked as expected. Overall the quality is very good. Though, I worry about the plastic hinges and locking clips: with some rough play, I am sure you can damage them easily. This DVD player is located on the back of the LCD, as a result everytime you have to change the DVD, you need to lift the player and change the DVD upside down or lift, rotate, and lower the player to forward face the DVD player and then repeat to forward face the LCD. Anyways, thats a lot of wear on the hinge and I hope they built it tough.
I have not figured out how to flip the image so that you can view the LCD if it is set on top of the headrest (as one of images from the description shows). But I cannot picture using this position too often because then the LCD touches the roof of my car.
We have played real DVDs and burned DVDs with no problems. We have not tried any other media types. Nor have we used the USB or memory card slot.
We have tried the games and the kids enjoy them and there are lots of games on the supplied disks. Wired controllers are for the 16-bit games and the wireless controller is for the 32-bit games (better graphics).
You have to remember to set one player to channel A (default) and the other to channel B; in order, to get the wireless headphones to work properly. The only batteries you need to supply are for the headphones, all other batteries are supplied.
The FM transmitter works great, you can set the frequency and match it on your car radio and your kids will enjoy the sound through your car system (but you probably won't).
SUMMARY:
Item is great for the price. The LCD looks great, picture is excellent, though, volume control could be better (more range). Manual is not very good. Wiring is start forward, if you know the basics; if not, ask someone who does. Color (mine was grey) was a bit off but that was to be expected. Build quality is good but I drilled it into my kids to be gentle when handling the DVD player. The zipper covers hides the DVD players. They look great with no visible wires. And though we've only had them for a month, we are very satisfied.

This is not your "Average Joystick" for your "Average Sim Fan". This is purely for hardcore "Cash Rich SIM Junkies". It works great from the box out and is very easy to setup especially on windows 7-64Bit. First time user beware !!!! The Joystick has Force Sensing Technology. Meaning it does not budge,or twist,nor turn. Instead it responds to pressure from your wrist. So do not expect it to lean forward, backwards or sideways like a traditional joystick because it's not. It's the new Kid on the block !!! And it lives up to it's reputation.
On the other hand the throttle is similar to other Saitek earlier models in terms of functionality with" the additional option of separating it into two independent throttles for airplanes with 2-4 engines. The throttle's resistance can be adjusted accordingly by accessing a screw underneath it. The Force Control Switchboard" on the front of the throttle lets you set up 4 different force options for airplanes that require different force setting like the F-18 or the Boeing 777 or Apache, machines that react differently in terms of wrist pressure,so that you do not need to go out of the game and reset the options all over again.

1- New Force Sensing Technology requires getting used to.
2- Cannot separate Joystick from Throttle for less serious games like Battlefield BC2 or H.A.W.X
3- Joystick needs a large hand to control especially that the joystick is bulky.
3- Cable Management not practical. Braided shorter cables would have been a PLUS !!!
4- Conservative Green Lighting. More gizmos and lighting options would have been welcomed. I am a fan of RED.
5- Requires large desk space to operate.
6- Too much applied pressure can cause the joystick to lift up from table.
7- Software setup will requires sometime to operate.

in a nutshell I give the Hottas a 9.5/10.This remains the best thing around to come in a long time. Once you get the feel of it, you won't let it go.
If you're into SIM and can afford the price, then this is the one you have been waiting for...

(More customer reviews)I was very excited to find these. I couldn't believe the price. Installation, however, was not easy. I had to get them professionally installed, which cost another $120. Volume control and video output on one unit did not work and this wasn't realized until already installed. Thankfully, the installer was able to remedy this. Video game quality is poor, but okay for smaller kids. Movie quality is great! Wireless headsets have mild interference. Just remember you get what you pay for!

(More customer reviews)Some say you don't need a surge protector, much less a power filter. Probably the same people who don't have car, health or life insurance! Nobody likes paying for these things, but if and when you need them you're sure glad you did. I figured that $140 was a good investment to protect a nice new plasma, receiver, sub, HD DVD player and Xbox 360. All of those items cost quite a bit, and one good surge could fry them all. Seems dumb not to take precautions. Rather than spend $250 for the four year warranty on just the TV, I spent half that for this item to protect everything for way past four years. Obviously it won't stop something within the equipment from malfunctioning, but I would think that sort of issue would appear within the first year under warranty. Plus, the AC filter is supposed to reduce the damage that normally would cause those type of problems in the first place. Again, maybe not all problems can be staved off, but I think those are very few and far between.
The product itself is well built and looks great placed with all of my other components. It lists for $400, so the price here is fantastic. No tax and free shipping (which was way faster than promised) sealed the deal.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this through Amazon, but the sub-supplier handled complaints and return of the product. I am glad that I had Amazon backing up this purchase.
After reading several other reviews on this product, I was prepared for some of the issues. The biggest issue is the Chinese to English translation in the operations manual (not the installation). You need to sit down with a cup of coffee and read these directions first with the product in front of you. There is a Chinese website that is more useful than the instruction manual, or the supplier.If you have a 12 VDC power supply, it is worth it to sit down and figure out all the controls and make sure everything functions before you install these.
The adapter rods are of course too small in diameter for today's American Made vehicles. So I twice wrapped them top to bottom with black electrical tape. That seemed to make them snug enough to fit.
Hooking up the wiring was relatively easy. My problem came after I had installed them and after playing for 5 minutes, one of the LCD screens went totally blank. The supplier company required me to package everything back up and Fedex picked them up the next day. One week later, my returned package arrived at their business in New York. After a few phone calls, they then shipped a new set which arrived in three days. I tested the new headsets for an hour before installing them. I didn't want to have that problem again.
The game CD have nothing on them. they are blank. So I guess you have to go to their website, download the games compresed to your computer, open the games, then transfer them to the CD.
Make sure your headsets work. If you have 2 kids in the car and they are watching different DVDs, the sound is maddening. Remember the speakers are right behind your head times 2.
So far I am pleased with the equipment. I had three previous vehicles that came from the factory with entertainment systems and we liked them all. But with my latest car purchase, I didn't want to spend $1200 more for factory installed DVD systems, so I thought this was a good investment. If in the future these DVD players break, I can just re-install original headrest. At least for now the grandkids are occupied on long trips.
I rated this a '3' because the operating instructions are difficult to understand, and that I had to wait two more weeks for a good set to arrive. The supplier did handle the problem without question..they just wanted to confirm there was something wrong with them.
