(More customer reviews)I did a reception comparison some time back, and the A6 came out way ahead of the other scanners. Although the A6 is technically not a scanner, I am currently using it as a scanner. However, as the other commenter pointed out, the keyboard is somewhat cryptic and not so obvious how to use it. I didn't find the manual all that bad, but I can see how it can be difficult to follow. For product quality I would give this a 5 star, but for user friendliness may be 3 stars. It is also much cheaper at Ham Radio web stores.
Now, about the radio. This is a slight upgrade from the IC2100H, and the two I had were rock solid!

I bought this unit for one of my locations for dispatch purposes, and distance improved over the unit it replaced significantly. Price was, to me, on the high side, but after shopping around, there are very few CB base units available these days, and the price was in line with other models available. I have been very pleased with this product.

Galaxy DX2517 10 Meter Base Ham Radio Review

(More customer reviews)This radio is illegal for use in the United States--either as a Citizens Band unit, or as a single band amateur transceiver. It is not type certificated for either use by the FCC, and is considered an "Export" model for sales and use outside the US.
The intended purpose of this radio is for illegal power output on the Citizens Band Channels (as clearly evidenced by the channel 40 and frequency clearly visible), and illegal "freebanding" in the frequencies between 11 meter CB and 10 meter amateur band.
