I love my iYiYi and want one now in black, too! My first Tivoli product was the simple Model One Table Radio, I got it two years ago and have been hooked ever since. I'm an audiophile & absolutely bask in the room-filling sound of this surprisingly small unit. Everyone likes nice bass and it satisfies my need for a bright high end as well. Love it, love it, love it!

I bought this hidden camera alarm clock because occasionally I am paranoid about what people do in my house when I'm not around. I'm only partially kidding on that. I wanted to use it mainly for motion detection; I'm not really interested in hours of unchanging room scenes. I aim mine at the entrance to my bedroom door so I not only catch things IN the room, but also when people walk BY the room.
I'll just list the cons and pros as I see them:
Cons
1) It's EXPENSIVE! I got it at SpyTown for two-eighty-five (in case the price has changed) plus shipping (and tax if you live in NY). With shipping it came to just over 300.
2) The instructions could be better. I still don't really understand how to work that Schedule setting. When I use it and block off specific hours of recording motion, it records anyway. The menu shows hours (at least I think it's the hours) 1 through 24 so I block off the hours I'm at home, but it starts recording everything (not the motion I selected) at midnight. I then tried leaving the schedule off and it seems to record SOME of the time, but because it's not consistent when it starts up I am just not sure what I need to change in the settings.
3) The 4GB card that comes with it is a regular SD card and I have a feeling this thing won't use the SDHC cards. It seems old school. And of course the plain SD cards don't come any larger so I have to set this thing to Loop which means I sometimes miss time periods in the beginning (they get overwritten).
4) The DVR On/Off button is on top. Not very discreet if you hope to have it seem like a regular alarm clock. Should be on the back or sides and there's plenty of room for it almost anywhere else. I think your average thief would recognize it for what it is if they looked at it for more than a couple of seconds.
5) The only way to the menu is the remote so don't EVER lose that! Needs a menu button on the device itself just in case.
6) You must view the image on a separate video screen. I connect mine to my TV's side output as necessary, but given the hard to use factor I am doing this every day with an extra long cord.
7) The non-radio alarm is too soft. It ends up ringing almost a minute until I wake up. Luckily I set it for a bit early anyway. My other alarm clock was ALARMING and I could never sleep through that.
8) I removed the "battery cover" and discovered there was no place for batteries so you're stuck with A/C power only out of the box. (Still don't know what that removable plate is for since it goes to a PCB plate--am I supposed to remove that as well to get to the batteries??)
Pros
1) That gimmick of showing the time on the ceiling or wall with the projector is AMAZING! I really like that. It's even aim-able and reversible, meaning you can even make the time "inside out" (I think for reflections off of something). If I turn over in bed I can read the time on the ceiling. May bother someone who is light averse while sleeping, though, even if it isn't that bright in my opinion.
2) It really does capture motion well and the camera's video is true to life. It is color and you can see faces and other detail fine.
3) You can connect this thing to an alarm system if you have one. One of the settings is to have it record when the alarm is tripped. I've never used it, though.
4) It has WHITE NOISE to fall asleep to! Not just white noise, but sounds of nature; there are two selections other than radio. It's soothing actually.
5) It does have AM/FM radio, though the dial doesn't go all the way down for FM. Not sure why there are numbers down there where you can't go. I think it might be a flaw in my particular clock/radio.
6) It has TWO alarms, which means two people can use it without adjusting the wake times.
7) Numbers on the front are large and easy to read and the AM/FM dial is also easy to see, though the radio isn't bright in the dark.
8) You can erase the card and set Motion Sensitivity in the menu.
As for the specs, it records at 30FPS max, which looks like enough for this purpose. I think the video is at 320x240 in resolution according to the menu. The more expensive alarm clock at SpyTown only adds Wi-Fi, which might be useful for some folks. I got my clock within 3 business days (5 days total), but there was no tracking info sent out and I called and never got a human. I e-mailed and the PERSON who handles that was out that week so basically the customer service is weak, but I have no problems after 3 weeks of use so I can live with that.

Sony ICF-CD7000WC 120 v AM/FM Stereo CD Clock Radio-Silver Review

Sony ICF-CD7000WC 120 v AM/FM Stereo CD Clock Radio-Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have finally come full-circle: I started with a Sony DreamMachine about 10 years ago, and after going through a couple of other brands/configurations, I'm finally back to a Sony.
This is a nice unit -- decent sound, OK radio reception, good CD player, great features. Although the color is listed as "white," it's really more of a light putty color, very pale gray.
The biggest advantage of this unit over others I've tried is EASE OF USE and set-up. The "owner's manual" is small because everything is so straightforward and easy to find/operate.
Initial set-up takes less than a second: the clock arrives preset to the correct time in EST; all you do is set the time zone by hitting the button marked "time zone," and voilà -- the correct time pops in. Setting the alarm is also easy - took less than a minute to get it ready to go.
There are three light settings: really bright, reasonably bright, and backlight only, controlled via the "snooze" bar. The snooze gives you 10 minutes additional sleep time -- my last unit was 9 minutes, and I've had others with as few as 6 minutes. Ten "feels" just right to me. I can fall asleep to a CD, and wake to the "buzzer," which isn't really a buzzer at all -- more like a "chirp" that gradually gets louder, another nice feature. There's also a "nap" feature -- set it to your desired nap length, and it will wake you up without disturbing your alarm setting.
And, best of all, unlike other Sony models, this one has battery backup! If there's a power outage, you're safe. This is a big thing for me -- we have power outages 3-4 times each winter.
Very nice unit, well worth the money.

Bose Wave Music System - Graphite Gray Review

Bose Wave Music System - Graphite Gray
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had my Bose for about two years. I'm very glad to have received it as a present because, despite some of its fine features, it certainly does not merit the hefty, comparable-to-a-small-home-stereo price tag.
I like its design and its sound.
I don't like the following "features":
1) It is the most sensitive CD player I have. It will not properly play a number of CDs, especially CD-Rs. If a disc is slightly thin, the unit will either not accept it (you have to give it a push) or not eject it (you have to open up the unit, turn it on, hit "eject," and pull the disc out). This is especially annoying when my $70 boombox plays them without a problem. Refurbishing by Bose did nothing to change my unit's sensitivity.
2) It is not programmable! It doesn't program songs at all. The best it can do is "shuffle," "shuffle repeat," "repeat track," and "repeat disc." The cheapest boombox these days is programmable.
3) The lack of buttons is annoying: I found I had to order a second remote ($10) and keep it by the box. When I called Bose about this problem, the tech suggested getting the second remote and added that a lot of people had done that. My boombox is more user-friendly (it has buttons as well as a remote).
One can argue about the merits of elegance vs. user-friendliness. But the lack of programmability and the oversensitivity of this box make it a poor buy, in my opinion.

Bose Wave - Audio system - radio / CD - graphite gray Review

Bose Wave - Audio system - radio / CD - graphite gray
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've seen the Wave Radio compared to products from Kloss,
Cambridge Sound Works, Sony, etc. Typical reviews put
the Wave Radio ahead in styling and behind in sound quality
and price. That matches up with our experience.
However, in the bedroom, styling is important. I look at
our clock radio every morning and night, and if it looks like a
transformer robot or a leftover from a karaoke bar, it isn't
worth the "good deal". The Bose is one of only a few I've seen
that is understated, with elegant lines and no chrome. Is styling
worth $500? No. But I won't buy an ugly box, even for $20.
In terms of sound quality, this is a Bose: no highs, no lows.
Well, it does have lows, but is quite boomy. This is reduced
by the "aux" stand that Bose is giving away with the radio.
The highs are muted. There are no tone controls. You can turn
it up loud enough to hear clearly down the hall, and the sound
is still OK (in fact, pretty good). Not quite what Bose would
have you believe, but good. Worth $500? No, but better than most
$200+ "executive" clock radios, few of which are nice looking,
or have the true clock-radio features. Nowhere near as good
as a $500 bookshelf stereo, but of course the stereo simply isn't
a clock radio at all.
Features are well-done compared to a $40 GE or Sony
clock radio: two alarms, radio/cd/alarm wakeup, ramped alarm
volume, auto-dimmer, battery backup, readable (but not
obnoxious) display, remote control. No TV sound or weather
radio. Controls are intuituve. Worth $500? No, but the sound
is fantastic compared to most clock radios.
Overall, it is a darn expensive clock radio. It is hard to
justify the price, but there's nothing exactly like it in
the market (the clone CSW 740 comes close, but, in my opinion, is
significantly uglier, and the older CSW 88 has a lot of harsh
reviews concerning reliability and support). If you're looking
for the combination of a good clock radio with very good sound
and understated lines, this is about all there is so far.

Bose Wave Music System - Titanium Silver Review

Bose Wave Music System - Titanium Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have enjoyed my Bose Wave music system for just over a month and I am very pleased with its performance. This is the second or third generation of the iconic Bose one-piece tabletop sound system that is intended to make you think you are listening to a much more complicated and professional component system. And, to a great extent, it does just that--or at least, it is closer to a stereo component sound than to a stand-alone run-of-the-mill radio sound. It certainly features a deeper range of bass sounds than any other one-piece radio I have ever encountered.
Bose has pioneered its spectacular sound machines which seem highly defined by their innovative speaker systems which they refer to as "waveguide speaker technology". This one-piece system produces a clear, natural, room-filling sound without the need of external speakers. It has a very innovative physical design with a small unintrusive footprint that sits well on a night stand or in the kitchen. I particulrly appreciate the Titanium Silver color which seems appropriate for any area of the home. It is simple to install right out of the box and has the FM/AM radio, CD player, and clock/alarm built in. There is an auxiliary input for an MP3 player or other alternate sound source.

I especially appreciate the alarm system that opens softly and gently rises in volume as you awake. It comes with a credit card size remote control; however, I purchased the larger backlit remote with a dedicated cradle that I use instead. All in all, this is an effective and very impressive one-piece tabletop sound system that I enjoy daily. It is a bit pricy, but ultimately, you get what you pay for.

The acclaimed Wave music system still sets the standard for quality audio and ease of use among one-piece, table top radios and bookshelf stereos. Its award-winning design adds a touch of distinction to almost any room. It's no surprise so many people use it as their main home entertainment system for music listening.Unique Bose innovations account for this compact Wave system's hearty sound. Proprietary waveguide speaker technology combines with other Bose technologies to deliver performance well beyond the speakers' size. The Wave music system was engineered for easy enjoyment, right out of the box. No setup required: just plug it in and you're ready to go. The FM/AM radio and CD player are built in. There's an auxiliary input for your MP3 or other portable player, and a headphone jack for keeping the music to yourself. The system's sleek appearance is uninterrupted by buttons, with all controls on a handy, slim remote. The large display panel is brightly lit and easy to read, prominently displaying the artist, title and album names of your MP3 CDs.
