I would like to respond to the previous user's review as it is honorable, but innocently false.
I also own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and the Klipsch iFi's, but I'm not sure why the previous user had such a difficult time getting his iFi to sound/image better than his Promedias, so let met male this clear: In no way shape or form is the Promedia 2.1 speaker system even remotely close to the quality, finesse and craftsmanship of the Klipsch iFi. The iFi achieves a far higher level of sound clarity and precision, while being more efficient, effective and exquisite. Klipsch tested the iFi to be almost three times louder at the respective maximum SPL while even maintaining a higher discipline of distortion than the Promedias 2.1's. Yes, three times louder with better sound quality. This does not even put them in the same category. That fact alone can whole heartily explain the price difference between them, but allow me to elaborate even further. The iFi's own RSX-3 satellite speakres provide much more impact and fuller and deeper midrange from a stronger, bigger and more capable aluminum driver. The 2.1's sats use a paper cone driver which is smaller and weaker and is held to the baffle with a cheap foam surround. The iFi employs a better, more elaborate titanium horn loaded tweeter that delivers far more sound with greater accuracy than the cheap plastic ones on the 2.1's. The RSX's are far more sophisticated speakers and deliver a sound that is sonically superior and louder than the proimedia satellites. I'm sorry to undermine the previous reviewer, but he is simply wrong.
The subwoofer even divides these two systems further. The 2.1's use a smaller 6.5" woofer with less power in a small enclosure that lacks both depth and proper porting as it emits gobs of port flutter when being pushed hard. The ifi `s subwoofer is a true beast with a full 10Hz lower frequency range, higher SPL, and far less distortion. Please don't get me wrong, the Klispch 2.1's are great speakers and that's exactly why the iFi is also a great system. Because it simply doest just offer the same experience with the addition of an iPod dock for three times the money. It offers you three times the sound quality and, conveniently has an iPod dock. I should also indicate that the remote, while slightly clumsy and small, is the best iPod speaker remote available do to its range.
I would not trade four promedia 2.1 sets for my iFi's
Here are pictures so you can clearly see I have both systems. You can also see the size difference of the subwoofer and the quality difference of the speakers.
Make no mistake, the iFi's trounce the Promeida 2.1's.

Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Mini Docking Speaker for iPod Review

(More customer reviews)I've been looking forward to this product since its introduction more than a month ago. I loved the original Zeppelin, but was excited about the smaller form factor and a USB digital connection in the Zeppelin Mini. Call me naive, I was actually hoping that the sound quality would be quite comparable to that of the original Zeppelin. As the B&W's website says:
"With Zeppelin Mini, you get everything you love about Zeppelin - advanced acoustic technology, intelligent design, elegant connectivity - in a streamlined, compact sound dock package that's perfect for desktops and bedside tables. "
But I was let down; the two speakers produce completely different sound. Pop music (I tried out Rhianna and Britney Spears) sounded okay due to the typically louder treble and bass in the recording, although when played louder it sounded clearly distorted and hollow; classical symphonies (I tried out Brahms' Symphony #4 and Shostakovich's Cello Concerto #1) sounded disappointing - the entire bass section cannot be heard until the volume is cranked up really high!; classical solo and chamber music (I played Vivaldi's Four Season - Winter, 2.Largo) turned out to be surprisingly really good and in my opinion the best genre for this speaker. After turning on Bass enhancer on my iPod EQ setting (unlike the original Z, the Mini does not have an external bass/treble control), the bass can be heard more but is too obviously distorted - cracking sound can be heard at times.
The bass sounded more full when positioned closer to me. B&W claims that the introduction of a flowport (absent in the original Zeppelin) is designed to amplify the bass; I found the outcome to be nothing like that of the original Zeppelin. I also expect the bass to be thicker if the speaker is placed against a wall or a corner (instead of in the middle of a table at the Apple store)
With the addition of USB connectivity, I was originally very excited about the idea of directly syncing my iPod to iTunes, controlling iTunes using a remote, and most importantly, the capability of bypassing analog signal processing on a computer to the speaker. However, given the significantly compromised quality of sound (esp. lack of bass), the idea of producing better quality analog signal that would only be greatly sacrificed in bass production seems meaningless.
Nevertheless, I was impressed with the design of the Mini. The speaker is much smaller than I'd envisioned based on the gallery (and after checking out the sound quality was I wished it was bigger). The Mini is light but feels very solid when carried around. The design is much more classy than other iPod speakers: the chrome bowl mirror matches the back of the original iPod (if you still own one); when firmly attached to the docking arm, it can be elegantly turned 90 degrees for cover flow (isn't that the only reason to buy an iPod touch/iPhone?); controlling the iPod has never been easier with the inventive protruded docking arm design (same as the original Z). Most impressive to me, the enclosure of black cloth over the speaker (as opposed to the colder, more industrial wire mesh used in Bose and other iPod speakers) stands out among the crowd with exquisiteness.
If I were to choose a small iPod speaker based on what looks best for my apartment, I would definitely go with the Mini. As for sound quality, it sounded very impressive for classical chamber music, good enough for pop, but definitely not satisfying for classical symphonies. However, if you are certain that any larger speaker (e.g. the original Z) cannot be considered, it is quite a good choice. (And at this price I would choose it over Bose any day - there, I said it).

Pioneer AVIC-D3 In-Dash GPS Navigation System with DVD Player Review

(More customer reviews)Just finished installing the D3 in my '06 Scion tC this weekend. In addition to the head unit I also installed the Bluetooth adapter/iPod cable/PAC steering wheel control interface and XM tuner. At this point I am still unsure if I am going to install the reverse cam. This is my third Pioneer head unit, but first Navigation unit.

The unit looks very nice installed with the included mounting hardware, much better than in the photos, I might add. The screen is very bright, and the touch interface works very well. The XM interface is very nice, especially when the Nav disk is in loaded, as it will then display station and category logos along with the standard XM track/artist info.
Here are some of the pros and cons I have come up with in the two days I have had to fool around with it:
Pros:
-XM or Sirius, it stinks to have to make a decision on a head unit based on your sat. radio prefs (Eclipse comes to mind here)
-Superb XM interface
-Solid iPod interface with cool iPod scroll wheel on-screen image (although no search function)
-So far the Nav has worked very well
-Vehicle diagnostics are fun, although not for any practical purposes
-Pioneers parametric EQ has always been great, it is even better with the enhanced visualization of the large color LCD
-Great internal sub-woofer controls including high pass filters, as well as low pass output and sub level controls
-Customization options are nice as you can match your cars instrumentation color
-DVD quality is very good
-Phone call quality is very good from the feedback I have gotten from callers (mounted the mic on the right side of my visor with the included clip)
-Night mode: when you flip on your headlights you can choose how dim you want the screen to get, and the navigation screen has a night mode which uses darker colors for the map, and is much easier on the eyes
Cons:
-No ability to have different EQ settings for each source as far as I can tell (source custom EQ)-this is a major disappointment, i.e. XM output is usually very flat compared to CD/MP3 sources, requiring a lot of messing around with the EQ to get it sounding right. Having to change EQ depending on source is a major pain
-No automatic sound levelizer (adjusts volume level depending on road noise)-even my stock Scion/Pioneer head unit had this
-No remote ($15 dollar option at [...], come on Pioneer, I know it's an inexpensive unit, but still)
-Some background noise at times, but I have concluded that it does not affect sound quality, as much of it only occurs when no music is playing (i.e. caused by the button tones or nav guidance)
- Having to use two little satellite antennas is silly- I don't understand why they couldn't have designed the XM tuner to be able to accept the sat. signal from the Nav antenna, i.e. pull the sat. signal through the IP bus
-I have still not been able to load my phone book into the unit and I tried both my cingular sonyericsson and my nextel blackberry-have checked forums and others are having similar issues, I'm guessing there will be a fix out soon as this is a brand new Bluetooth module
-No HD radio support
Overall I am very satisfied with the sound quality, interface, ease of use, and ability to customize the unit. I just wish it had the source custom EQ and the $170.00 Bluetooth module would load my address book.

Valor NVG-606W 6.5-Inch Double-DIN Touchscreen Navigation System Review

(More customer reviews)Installation relatively painless. Purchased installation instructions, wiring harness and mounting bracket from other online audio supply dealer. Unit was installed in 2003 Ford Expedition. The installation was performed on a Saturday morning. The only SNAFU experienced was when powering on the system and trying to initialize the GPS a warning message would appear stating something to the effect of 'invalid license key' and then an input screen would pop up for key entry. Nothing in any associatated documentation regarding license key, unlock code, or how to obtain such. An email and then telephone message were left with tech support regarding the issue. Appears there is no support provided on weekends. Monday a friendly tech support returned the call with the unlock code and an email was also received with same unlock code. Once the code was entered the system functioned just fine.
Pros:
The sound is much of an inprovement over the stock CD / tape deck that was purchased with the vehicle. Nice match for the Infinity Kappa speakers I previously installed. The convenience of AUX, USB and SD all in the front panel were a big plus for me (I have not hooked iPod to the read media input, the front AUX is more convenient.)
Cons:
Confusion of the unlock code resulted in my spending a few hours trying to hack the system into working state while waiting for tech support to return calls. GPS only runs from maps in the SD card. This prohibits playing SD based music when navigation is enabled. (Not really a big issue.) The unit will display song titles for USB based songs, but does not for standard CD format music - just Track01, Track09, etc.

- no support for cd changers but many feel that because of usb drives and ipods, changers are legacy...whatever!
What's a CD? Does anybody use them anymore? :)
- touch screen has a sweet spot that is small and off-center so it's easy to make the wrong selection and have to waste time on a redo...
Haven't noticed it yet. There is a calibration for the screen that needs/can be done so maybe that would fix your issue.
- no IR functionality which means wireless remotes cannot be used and this unit really needs one...
I never liked remotes in a car. I've had three head units that had remotes, including the one I just took out. Never put a battery in them. The head unit is arms length away, the remote is under the seat, stuck to a french fry, whatever. What is the remote for? I know some people like them, I just never have.
- xm works great BUT xm traffic is not supported, only msn direct...
Yeah, XM traffic would be better. MSN is a no go. Per their website they are shutting down the service. However, all the online reviews of this unit say getting the MSN is a no brainer, that it's data in invaluable. Go figure.
- no exterior mute button....
Hold down the voice prompt button and it mutes. I luckily noticed this in the manual when I was perusing it during the install.
- installing the hd radio module disables regular am/fm functionality...
Hmm, that's odd. I asked about it and wasn't told this was an issue. I didn't get HD radio so I cannot comment.
- route guidance has no introductory statement to start your route, you just start driving and eventually it begins giving directions...
Good. The less it talks the better. I have people in the car, the telephone going, stuff to remember to do. Just tell me where to turn already, skip the rest.
- route guidance audio does not identify by exit number, street or exit name, just take next and you must look at screen for what next is...
Hmm, good point. I didn't think about this before. I guess refer to the point above for me. Just keep me from blasting by the turn. I'll handle the rest. The road, distance, and direction of turn are on screen.
- last unit i had gave me my vehicle speed as well as the current posted speed limit, this unit gives neither...
Agreed! Sorta. I love having the GPS speed on screen for some strange reason. The GPS speed is available on a setup/calibration screen, but not on the main screen to my knowledge. I guess I can get my GPS calculated speed fix there. As for the speed limit on the GPS, I think I'll trust the handy dandy signs that were happily stuck in the ground for my personal amusement along the side of the road.
- adding a route is real work. to start a route you must type each and every complete word exactly, it does not help you complete words with suggested common choices nor is it flexible when searching...
Type in part of the word and hit enter, it'll show the most likely matches. The route seemed perfectly easy to enter to me, and thank God, the keyboard layout is a QWERTY so you know where the letter is without singing the alphabet song.
- when recalculating a route, it says nothing and starts the process very slowly.
Again, thank God. Say less, do more. I hate it when you are going off route manually and you don't want to key in your change. "Recalculating route....Recalculating route...etc, etc until you give in and either cancel the route or get through your detour."
- there is a search by address voice function, but it's slow and awkward, using it is a real struggle...
All voice commands are slow and awkward to me. I've been amazed at how accurate this thing has been so far.
- no voice commands for basics such as "go home", "cancel route", etc. so you must touch screen through several menu layers for them...
I haven't tried this yet. Go home should be a voice command. I agree. Good points. I did take the time to setup my custome home screen. It has icons for cancel route and go home so they are right there on the home screen. Nice.
POI TRULY SUCKS...
I already tried some POIs. They were not in there as often as I'd like so I agree. But, via the SD card you can load POIs so I'll give it a pass. If it's something I need I'll load it. If not, oh well. I can always look up the address. I did take the time to load some POIs just to see how this worked. I now have every Hooters in the US on my GPS. Sorta overkill as I really don't like chicken wings that much but considering how easy it was to add thousands of esoteric POI waypoints, I think it would be hard to knock what they have built in.
So far, this unit has been pretty much everything I wanted. I pulled out and replaced a Clarion 675 VXD with this Pioneer. It's so much better than the Clarion it's hard to imagine. Everything works as it's supposed to on the Pioneer. Not so on the Clarion. And Pioneer is using Parrott's bluetooth technology. I love Parrott.
I do have a couple of squawks that aren't mentioned previously. The unit, like everything in this country today, has a legal warning. Of course, somebody lost a lawsuit somewhere along the way and not only do we have to agree not to be stupid once, we now have to agree every time the unit boots. I've sort of resigned myself to this fact of life, however, there is a quirk with the Pioneer. Until you ok the legal screen, some of the functionality doesn't work. The iPod voice recognition it does at every boot up doesn't start until you have clicked ok and if you have just updated your iPod this VR load can take several minutes. If you are on the audio screen, as I often am, the warning screen doesn't appear. It's a navigation warning screen, so audio is playing from your last song but the unit is effectively nerfed until you click ok, no VR load, no audio commands, etc. The backup camera does work and it does immediately, which is good. It can be frustrating to jump in the car, fire up and want to start a phone conversation right away but the voice commands won't work till the VR load finishes, the VR load won't start till you click ok, and none of that will start till you click ok on the nav screen which probably isn't up and running. It would be nice if after 30 seconds you haven't clicked ok, it just times out and starts it's normal process or if the warning screen would pop up over navigation and audio so you can click ok. (Update to this note.) Turns out the issue above is actually a quirk of my installation. We may have accidentally performed a work around to eliminate the speed sensing ability of the Pioneer, which would enable the use of the navigation system, and video playback, while the vehicle is in motion. The issue I noted above is a side effect of this work around. Out of the box, this issue apparently does not exist, but you cannot use the navigation system above 10mph, which is in itself annoying in my opinion.

First off guys, This is my very first review, so I apologize in advance if I missed anything.
I have this unit for a TOYOTA CAMRY '06 and I was like everyone else when I was trying to decide which model to buy. There were NO reviews online ANYWHERE other than the video reviews from Sonic Electronix and Crutchfield (but they both did an okay job).
I am satisfied with my purchase. I bought it mid June 2009
The screen is nice, but when it is really sunny outside, the DVD video seems washed out because of the touchscreen layer. The GPS, radio, and ipod/iphone screens look fine. It's just the DVD playback that is not bright enough under extreme sunlight. When the sun is a bit more forgiving, like during sunset, the brightness is fine. And when your car is under any shade, the brightness is fine. Overall, the resolution and colors look good and the brightness adjusts to your headlights.
On other notes... The left side controls are touch sensitive, not physical PUSH buttons.
If you have a USB cord connected to the front, it'll block some of the screen view, depending on the height of the unit.
The bluetooth function works great with the iphone. Fast and responsive.
GPS options include 2D and 3D angle views. Includes useful Points of Interest (POI) locations with phone numbers you can easily dial to over bluetooth.
I have not installed HD radio, Satelite radio, or a Rear view camera.... So I can't comment on that.
I did not install this unit myself... .... So I also can't comment on that.
If you decide to keep your steering wheel controls, you'll have to buy a separate module. Using it will take some getting used to. --- This is NOT the fault of JVC, but of the makers of the steering wheel controls module/adapter. The steering wheel control module is a little slow for the volume control. Instead of a light push or tap of the steering wheel buttons, you'll have to give is a medium/hard push. Or you can hold the button down, but then the volume increases rapidly until you release the button.
Pros:
--Detachable faceplate - for added security. Includes soft case pouch for faceplate.
--Easy slot loading disc access - No motorized CD/DVD tilt (my personal preference).
--Works with iphone. Fast load times. Takes under 10 seconds to load.
--Fast GPS. Fast SD card reads. Fast iphone controls. Fast CD/DVD reads.
--FRONT AV and USB ports - USB charges the iphone while being able to use.
--Reads burned CD and DVD+R discs.
--Allows album art from iphone and SD cards.
--GPS reads out street names. GPS shows split screen detailed turns and directions. Has GPS voice lane guidance ("get on the left lane" , "prepare to turn left", etc.)
--Can listen to music while being directed by the GPS navigation voice
--Can play audio books at normal and above average speeds.
--Has a simple adjustable equalizer settings
--Reads my Sandisk 16GB (class 2) SD memory card - this is not official by JVC though
Cons:
--No volume knob.
--Low brightness in DVD video playback under extremely sunny days. --Doesn't automatically tag song or band names from the RADIO.
--No real time traffic GPS updates.
--No video playback from an SD card.
--No button color light choices (a choice of blue, green, or red would have been nice). No screensaver choices or customizable menus.
--Removing the faceplate takes getting used to. Not a big deal...
--NOTE:(press the button to eject the faceplate, then lift UP towards the sky then out)
--must remove faceplate to access SD card slot
--must keep SD card in the slot if you plan on adding your own customizable Points of Interest (POI) locations.
--Speed limits are not always displayed... depends on your city
--bluetooth phonebook transfer not compatible with the iphone
By law you're not allowed to use navigation while driving. In order to use navigation and the hands free dialing (as well as DVD playback) while driving, you need to bypass the parking brake switch built in to EVERY IN-DASH car navigation.
Go to a car stereo installation shop and have them connect the "parking brake" wire to a ground source. This will fix your problems!Overall, I really like the unit. This is my first GPS in-dash unit. I would recommend it. Do not pay retail prices for this model or any model. I would try calling different local car audio installation shops and see if they have it in stock. Places like Walmart, Crutchfield, and Sonic Electronix overcharge! This model is not available at Best Buy or Mobile One.
I give it a 9 out of 10. A+
The overriding decision for me to buy it was:
-- IPHONE compatible
-- built-in Bluetooth
-- fast loading times (music, GPS, startup time)
-- DETACHABLE FACEPLATE
-- no motorized CD tilt mechanism
-- front USB input

GenevaSound All-in-One Stereo for CD, iPod, iPhone, Radio, Line-in (Large-Walnut) Review

(More customer reviews)Back in the day, actually before my time, televisions and stereos were designed to be both functional and beautiful - they were considered furniture, an essential complement to a well-designed room. Now, of course, function trumps form for most electronic gadgets, and most are ugly. With the advent of flat screen LCD televisions at least they don't look like the hulking monstrosities that overwhelm the room like the big TVs of the past couple decades, but it's still true that a decent sound system tends to be a box covered with buttons and indicators, and connected by endless wires to a range of speakers spread throughout the room.
That's not necessary if you've got one of these Geneva Sound L systems in the living room. It's an elegant blend of form and function - the sound is astonishing, especially considering that it all comes from a single wooden box. Did I mention wooden? The walnut variety, which is the one I've tried, is not just walnut coloring, it's actually encased in wood, and the metallic grating that covers the multiple speakers inside is just the right tint to match it perfectly. The whole system is small enough not to get in the way, but it delivers 100 Watts of stereo surround sound that can really fill a room for an immersive musical or theatrical sound experience.
Geneva Lab is known for setting an early high fidelity sound and design standard for iPod docking systems. This one is at the middle of their range -- they have one that's a bit bigger and one that's a lot bigger and a few smaller ones. I only have experience with this one and the smaller S model. For me and for my living room I can't imagine needing anything more. It feels solid and there is a serious heft to it - the system actually weighs about 40 pounds - it's not filled with cheap lightweight equipment that'll blow out when it gets loud. It can do radio and takes input from a television or other device, and there's a little, almost invisible, slot for CDs in the top, plus a panel flips open when you push it to reveal a universal iPod dock. It works perfectly with my nano and iPod touch. You can put it on the floor or a table, but Geneva Sound also sells a shiny and stable metallic stand that elevates it a couple of feet for optimum sound range. There's an LCD display that indicates the mode (radio with 6 preset buttons on the remote, iPod, CD or auxiliary), the CD track (will play CD-ROM and mp3 CDs as well as standard) and the volume (on a scale of 1-100) and the bass and treble values (each scaled from -6.0 to +6.0). All inputs, including the outlet plug, and L-R RCA input, are hidden beneath the box so that it looks good from behind -- and if you have the stand all cords can run from the device through the stand's support beam for simplicity and appearance.
Of course, it's the sound that matters most, and to my ears this really delivers. I've never really wanted a massive sound system in my living room but this one really fills the room with sound, both for watching movies and hanging out to music. While it's all in one box, there are actually two sets of speakers behind the screen - there's a pair of 1" tweeters and a couple of 5 1/4" woofers. While most of the sound is directed out from the front of the box, there's also a sound output slot in the rear, probably to help deliver a more expansive sound.The "sound test" CD that comes with the box is pretty amazing ... you drop it in and can literally hear sound coming from all directions, and this device is set to deliver that experience wherever the recorded input has the information. I didn't expect that level of "spatial differentiation" from a sound system that is this self-contained. I was also very impressed by the range -- even on a low volume it delivers what I can only describe as a "big" sound, that fills the room even without being "loud." But, I'm happy to say, it can get very loud without sounding "noisy" -- I've played jazz and hip-hop, rock and pop, and I'm very happy with the sound performance throughout, at various sound ranges.
There are a few problems, though, mostly minor but still annoying. One thing that bugs me about the design is that the buttons on the device itself (hidden along with the iPod dock beneath a wooden flip-up panel) don't do much. There's an on-off button a CD eject button and up-down volume buttons, and an input jack (for mp3 players that aren't compatible with the iPod Universal dock). What that means is that most functions on the system require use of the remote control -- and for me that is a drawback, both because in a house with kids like mine remote controls tend to wander around and are hard to find when you need them most, and because it detracts from the overall simplicity and ease. I imagine they left extra buttons off (pause, stop, song forward and back, mode switching, bass and treble adjust) in the interest of simplicity, but what that means is that the device itself isn't really self-contained, and so is inherently more complex -- to use it you have to have another thing lying around nearby. Of course it's nice to have the remote if you need it, but I like to consider a remote as an auxiliary rather than an essential. Why it's strange, too, is that there's plenty of room near the iPod dock for a few extra buttons that would still be hidden away and not detract from the aesthetics of the device. I like that I can play CDs here directly, and that it plays mp3 CDs, but I wish there was some more control in how it plays them. By default it plays them straight through (no random shuffle) and on repeat mode - and there's no way to change that. I tend to think that if a high end device like this supports a function (like playing CDs) it should support that function fully, not minimally as here.
Still, while I'd love to see an upgrade that fixes these annoyances, as a whole I think this is a beautiful device that delivers exceptional sound in an elegant and convenient package, and that's what it's all about.
About the video: I shot this as a quick illustration of the overall design of this device - shot against a green screen with a sky background because I like to play around with the green screen. One problem with that, as you'll see: there's a greenish tint on the sound system -- that's because I wasn't taking enough care to separate the lighting of the screen from the lighting of the device.

(More customer reviews)I've had the iyiyi for about 2 weeks. I did a lot of shopping around before taking a shot in the dark and ordering this thing online. What makes it beat the Bose is the fact that it has a radio and that you can hook other devices into it.
The sound is sharp and it fills a large sized room. The sound is not overpowering, though. On songs with a lot of heavy base, it does distort a little at high volumes. Tivoli recommends not turning on ipod's equalizer as this could cause damage to the speakers.
I can pick up radio stations from far away. It looks really cool. My ipod looks like it belongs with it. It is compact, so it fits just about anywhere you want to put it without taking up too much space. The power cord is just that, a power cord. It tucks away neatly.
The other cool thing about it is that when you unplug it, it remembers what time it is and your preset radio stations.
I like this product and I think it is worth the price.

If you are looking for natural studio reference quality sound reproduction with style and simplicity, you have now found it.
True stereo sound from one beautifully designed enclosure and no wires!
One remote control handles all functions.
This unit plays CDs, I-Pods and I-Phones and will accept connection to all other manner of inputs. The only drawback is that the built in FM radio antenna does not receive strong stereo signals but why bother when you can play any world radio station through an I-Phone with a wi-fi connection and charge your phone at the same time. I have not switched on my expensive high-end music system since buying the Genevasound. The speaker enclosures are a wonder to hear and also look great.
Very highly recommended.

My needs were/are: Ipod integration (including video playback), Dvd Playback, CDs, Bluetooth and of course am/fm. After a long hard search of single-din units I choose this model.

What I liked about this unit is you have a video out. You can hook up your headrest monitors and if you have a game system (Xbox, PS, Wii...what have you) you can hook it up to the video in that it has to offer as well (with full playback to your headrests). This just allows you to have direct connection to your cars speakers.
Dvd Playback. It is very good. Turn the car off, it'll start right back up where it left off.
Bluetooth. My boyfriend has a Pioneer DEH-P9800BT which I installed as well (A great unit if you don't require Dvd play back). Unlike the pioneer unit there is no mic to install anywhere and the quality still sounds pretty good on both ends. Doesn't matter what source you are using Bluetooth will alert you when someone is calling by pausing your music/video and showing the caller Id. You can accept or decline.
AM/FM. I was a bit disappointed that the unit didn't have RDS. I have been using a factory unit that had it and kind of miss that feature. Seemed like a feature they could have added.
Ipod. Heres where I am on the fence. I had been using a fm transmitter for my ipod and finally wanted direct connect because I could not take the quality anymore. I purchased an Apple Composite AV Cable (THIS WORKS JUST AS GOOD AS A JVC KSU20 CABLE) Of course, The quality was 300% better than before. However, The Interface is a bit slow. I really hope that JVC comes out with a firmware upgrade that speeds it up a bit. When I go to play "The Killers" it takes me approx. 1 minute to get to the letter "K". But for the most part I keep it on shuffle. The unit charges the Ipod as well.
Ipod Video. This is a cool feature. With either the JVC KSU20 or the Ipod Composite AV cable. You can watch any video off your ipod and direct the signal to the headrest monitors as well.
Pros: Great Bluetooth, DVD, Ipod Video integration with a sleek (no button look). Love the 4 setting tilt screen (great for stereo units closer to the ground)And Love the Proximity motion light as well.
Cons: For a single din unit JVC did a decent job, Ipod interface is really my only complaint. I had looked at the JVC KD NX5000. But didn't like the look of the unit or felt the need for crappy navagation. The menu interface feels like it should be more user friendly (getting to the ipod artists list has to be done by hitting about 5 buttons)
I have not used satellite or the back-up camera (which I plan to install soon).

A few new things.
Satellite Radio - Bought the Sirius Adapter through ebay. Though it's not as fast as a stand-alone unit, It sounds great and it's nice to have it integrated into the radio.
Iphone Compatibility - I was a little disappointed to see that, unfortunately, the Iphone does not seem to be compatible with the unit. Maybe with either an update from Apple or JVC this will change in the future. For now, I use my usable Ipod touch just as a music jukebox in the car and Iphone for everything else (gym, work, etc...). It's actually not a bad setup.
HD Radio - Buying the HD Adapter fixed my RDS problem. Any stations that send out artist info is now displayed. Without excellent reception, those extra HD stations are hit or miss. It's a nice feature to have. Quality can be exceptional at times.
I will keep those interested up-to-date if I come across any new info on the unit.

(More customer reviews)Previously, in my search for the ultimate "all-in-one" sound system, I purchased the B&W Zeppelin and Bose Sounddock 10 and put them head to head in my own home. The B&W zeppelin was the clear the winner of that comparison with clear natural sound that really brought out the beauty of recorded music. The Bose had more volume capability and slightly more bass in the lowest registers, but it struggled to bring out the tone, accuracy and depth of the Zeppelin and my refence system, consisting of Full range Dynaudio Towers and NAD amplification. Of course this led me to wonder if there were any other systems out there that could be better yet. This led to me to Geneva. The Geneva line of systems has been out for several years, but I had never listened to them before. Geneva has systems of various sizes ranging from S to XXL, and I went with one right in the middle, the L. When I received my Geneva L, I was immediately impressed with the packaging and the fit and finish of the product. The glossy paint was perfect and the system integrated perfectly with the brushed metal stand, an optional piece from Geneva. It was very easy to operate. I opened the wooden flap on top of the unit, plugged in my Ipod, and powered the system on. Within minutes I was listening to my playlist. Now it was time to see what this thing could do. I already had a playlist of about 50 songs encoded from my CD collection in apple lossless. This is the same list of songs that I used to evaluate my home reference system, the B&W Zeppelin and Bose Sounddock 10. I then played about 50 hours of music and full bandwidth pink noise through the system in order to break it in. I can't stress enough how much the sound changes in all of these systems during the break in process, the Geneva most of all. After listening to my playlist on the Geneva L, I was truly amazed. The sound was simply fantastic. It has the clarity and tonal excellence of the B&W with overall volume capability and deep bass that surpassed both systems. There were a couple of trouble tracks, such as Joss Stone's "Less is More" and Jack Johnson's "Taylor," which caused the Zeppelin to exhibit port noise and some loss of coherency. The Geneva L played both of those songs beautifully, at high volume, without issue. The overall impact of this system was something that completely took me off guard. Listening to these systems side by side also showed how much deeper the sound stage of the Geneva L was. In fact it projected a sound image that was nearly as wide and deep as my reference system. The Geneva did appear to have less punch with very low volume listening which may be due to less dynamic loudness in the DSP. I also very much enjoyed listening to CD's and FM radio which is all included with the Geneva L. It became obvious to me very quickly as I was comparing the Geneva to other Ipod docks that this was not really apples to apples. First, this is a more expensive product at $999, but it was also a lot more than an Ipod Dock. With CD, FM, ipod and such full range sound, the Geneva was the first system that I consider a true stereo replacement, and could easily be the primary music system in my home. It really has the sound quality, dynamics, and imaging of full size stereo system in one sleek unit with a single single power cord. This system is a unique product is an excellent value for all that it can do, and I look forward to enjoying it for some time to come. I hope this helps anyone who is on the eternal quest for an "all-in-one" system that really can do it all.

Power Acoustik PAVN-7210 6.5-Inch Touch Screen In-Dash Navigation System with AM/FM Radio and DVD Player Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased my PAVN-7210 almost a year ago and I've been disappointed. It did not come with a user's manual, so I contacted the company and they emailed me a digital. I can not get the screen to auto-dim as is one of their advertised features. The lower half of the screen is darker than the top, making it hard to read the lower half. The equilizer feature is terrible. It has no clock on the radio display, although there is one on the Navteq GPS system - but if you are not using it, you do not have a clock where one is typically provided on most radios. It's not like there is no room. The display screen is quite large, but the use of it is pathetic and it is so boring. In a dark car, you can not see the radio buttons since they are not illuminated in any way. The eject button does not open the unit all the way to access the CD/DVD slot. You have to manually assist the unit to open and close. The CD unit does not work. I am currently trying to work with the company on this. My call to Power Acoustiks results in long phone waits for "the Tech" (I guess they only have one). So far, his suggestion to press the reset button has failed to fix the problem. I like the Navteq GPS alright, except that it is not integrated well with the radio. When the GPS unit is on, you can not use the preset radio stations as they are part of the radio screen and do not show up when the GPS is on. Also, the GPS interupts your music/talk stations when giving directions verbally. You can not turn off the verbals (you can mute them, but your radio music/talk will still mute-out when the GPS would be giving driving directions). Overall, this unit has been a disappointment and I would not recommend it. I doubt that I will ever purchase another Power Acoustik product after having this unit.

(More customer reviews)The Geneva M puts out an incredible sound for such a small little box and while it has no handles, it is easy to transfer between rooms to enjoy my fantastic music anywhere.
The Geneva sound is excellent from top to bottom, and bass production lives up to the quality of the music played. The level of power is stronger with CD's than my i-Pod, but this is true with my primary large stereo system as well.
The beauty of the stereo is in its fine simplicity and fine craftsmanship. It enhances my room but does not define it.
I also love the remote control. It is simple, easy to see and accomplishes what it is intended to accomplish. I do not feel that I need to wear my glasses and get out a driver's manual.
Overall, the performance of the Geneva M is spectacular.

The beauty of the iPod is it's interface, and Chestnut Hill has spent a great deal of time thinking about how users interface with GEORGE. What they've come up with is elegant and allows a significant feature set while remaining elegantly simple to use.
In a brilliant touch, the controls can be removed from the radio and placed in a charging stand. In this configuration everything functions as before, only wirelessly. You can put the radio a distance away -- with your iPod mounted on top -- and have complete control of both GEORGE and the iPod from your nightstand.
The sound quality also differentiates this product. It does not try to hide or gloss over the fact that it is a small box by using electronic tricks. Instead, it packs the cleanest, tightest, and truest sound I've yet heard from a box of this size. The bass is tight and musical, without the BOSE tendency towards flatulent exaggeration. Treble is good and articulate, without sounding harsh or edgy. And, considering it's size, GEORGE creates a decent stereo image as well.
Just for reference, I own a BOSE SoundDock, Apple HiFi, and have quite a bit of higher-end audio gear. GEORGE has proven to be one of the best-engineered iPod-related products I've ever owned.
Furthermore, the designers did not ignore the design of the built-in radio tuner. Connected to a Sangean Twin-Coil Ferrite AM Antenna, this thing pulls in each and every AM station that my top-of-the-line Sony Shortwave radio can. FM performance is also quite good and seems every bit as good as the tuner in our Tivoli Audio Model One.
Highly recommended, and we've just ordered a second unit for our guest room...

Well, add "customer service, second to none" to my list of pros about the George. I recently began having issues with decreased battery life in the remote. I contacted the company at 10 p.m. PST, received a reply from Rob of Chestnut Hill Audio (within 10 minutes, via BlackBerry), and they promptly sent me a new battery for free. It's a pleasure to do business with a company who values its' customers and tries to take care of them!

Cambridge SoundWorks i755 Table Radio with iPod Dock Review

(More customer reviews)June 2011 update -- My third replacement of this radio has been used occasionally as only a radio. Last week, the clock started freezing as the earlier models had done. Requires that I unplug and reset. Cannot rely on the alarm clock feature. I believe there is an engineering bug in the design; I'd never purchase another.
Earlier comments:
After waiting almost 4 weeks for a factory repair, they sent a second radio instead of repairing the first one. After about 2 months, the second radio has the same problem -- the clock display freezes, radio stops functioning as an alarm clock, and the on/off buttons on the radio and the remote control do not work. Tech Support says to unplug, push the on/off button several times during two hours, and then replug to power. Same routine as for first radio; it worked for a while and then same symptom.
They will NOT give a refund after 30-days, even though the problem I called about was originally less than 30 days!
They will NOT give a refund!
What follows are notes from the first radio, that also failed in the identical way.
