The probe sensor consists of three parts: a heavy, solid magnetic sensor, coaxial cable, and circuit box. I buried the probe parallel to the driveway, about one foot from the edge. The cable was buried about two inches under ground through the woods to the circuit box, hung on a tree (screws not included). Six AA batteries, inside the circuit box, power the transmitter. Selecting the channel and sub-channel was easy. Using the HT walkie-talkie, I tested the sensor by first walking close by it (no alarm), and then driving near the other edge of the driveway at a medium and fast speed. Both times, the alarm was sounded (a voice saying "Alert Zone 1, Alert Zone 1") I believe that it is reliable. I have one concern. The coaxial cable is not secured in the box with a knot, to prevent accidentally ripping it out if it is tugged or tripped over (perhaps by an animal or the homeowner). In that event, damage could be considerable as the cable is wired directly to a circuit board.
